About Experience by Laene Carvalho
Experience by Laene Carvalho was born from a clear conviction:
experience has the power to transform.
Spaces, brands, services, encounters and everyday rituals
do not exist only to function.
They influence how people feel, perceive value, create connection,
inhabit time and relate to life itself.
The name Experience carries this vision.
It comes from the understanding that everything around us may fulfill a function,
but only reaches its true potential when it creates
presence, identification, emotion, comfort, desire and memory.
This is the territory where the consulting studio works.
Not only in physical spaces, but in experience as a whole.
In what is seen.

In what is communicated.

Light, atmosphere, sensory intelligence, rhythm, hospitality,

brings it to life: atmosphere, light, sensory intelligence, rhythm, hospitality gestures, perception, emotion and the coherence between identity and experience.
This perspective begins with the understanding that hospitality
is not confined to the hospitality industry.

In hotels and restaurants, yes but also in wineries, cultural spaces,
corporate environments, events, authorial brands and in the everyday life
of those who wish to live, host and inhabit with more consciousness,
beauty and meaning.

Atmosphere Architecture
Experience by Laene Carvalho develops an approach that brings together
sensory architecture, experiential branding, applied hospitality and atmosphere design.
In practice, this means thinking beyond form and function.
It means considering perception, emotion, behavior, memory and presence as essential parts of the experience.
Light, materials, circulation, temperature, texture, visual narrative, rhythm and the language of service
are articulated as parts of one cohesive whole.
The goal is not simply to create beautiful environments, but to turn space into a coherent expression of brand,
experience and perceived value.
The result is projects and consulting work that do more than elevate the aesthetics of a place,
they expand its capacity to generate connection, belonging and real value.
Laene Carvalho’s Journey
Experience by Laene Carvalho is led by Laene Carvalho, Architect and Experience Strategist, whose multidisciplinary path has been built at the intersection of architecture, lighting design, hospitality, branding, perceived value, wine culture and customer experience.
Trained in architecture and urbanism at UFMG, Laene developed early on a strong interest in the way spaces shape behavior, perception and well-being. This perspective was later expanded through her specialization in lighting design at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where light came to be understood not merely as a technical resource, but as a sensitive, strategic
and emotional language in the construction of atmosphere.
Over time, her academic and professional journey expanded into complementary fields including interior design, landscape design, neuroarchitecture, hospitality, enology and gastronomic experiences, consolidating a rare and integrated vision of human experience.
This path has also been strengthened by studies in branding, marketing, sales and perceived value, which today deepen her ability to think of experience not only as aesthetic expression, but as a strategy for positioning, differentiation and real impact.
Her study of wine, viticulture and gastronomy emerged as a natural continuation of this trajectory, rooted in the understanding that eating, drinking, hosting and sharing are also ways of experiencing life and practicing hospitality in everyday form.
These fields expanded her understanding of how culture, ritual, sensory language, service and memory intertwine in the creation of meaningful moments and of how experience can also
become a form of self-care and care for others.
In the same way, her interest in hosting, tablescaping, atmosphere and the art of living well broadens her work beyond physical space, extending it into the ways people inhabit,
welcome and transform life into experience.
The result is a distinctive approach shaped by technical training, sensory depth and strategic clarity: an understanding of spaces, brands and experiences as living systems of perception.
More than designing environments or refining atmospheres, her work lies in aligning identity, sensory intelligence, hospitality and intention to create experiences that are more coherent, more desirable and more memorable, across business, hospitality and everyday life.

An Authorial Practice with an International Perspective
Over the last decade, Laene has expanded her repertoire through studies, immersions and ongoing research
in hospitality, customer experience, sensory design, and international references in luxury, service and atmosphere.
Her work engages with commercial and institutional projects, while also expressing a broader belief: that experience, when thoughtfully designed, can transform the way people live, host, work, celebrate and relate to everyday life.
The studio works with brands, businesses and private clients who seek to elevate the way experience is lived, expressed and perceived, understanding that quality of life, presence and meaning can also be intentionally designed.
Based in Canada and working internationally, Experience by Laene Carvalho develops projects and consulting work in portuguese, english, spanish and, soon, french, bringing together global repertoire, cultural sensitivity and strategic clarity.
